Richard A. Bersin

With over 30 years of experience, Richard applies a solutions-oriented approach to business and litigation matters.  Richard combines his extensive experience with a personal, hands-on approach focused on achieving client objectives in an efficient manner.  Richard represents corporations, small businesses, construction companies, professionals and individual clients who are facing business or litigation issues.

Richard represents clients in a full spectrum of commercial and civil litigation matters in federal and state courts, including cases involving contracts, construction, corporate, employment and non-compete disputes.  Richard also handles fraud, insurance, personal injury, and wrongful death claims for individual clients.  Richard develops strategies that are designed to achieve the client's objectives and minimize risks.  Richard assists clients in pursuing alternative means of resolving disputes, including settlement negotiations, mediation, and arbitration.  If litigation is necessary, Richard is prepared to diligently advocate his client’s interests in court.  Richard has been an arbitrator in numerous business, construction, and personal injury cases, and he frequently serves as a moot court judge at the University of Washington Law School.

Richard also assists clients with wide range of business law needs, including entity formation, drafting contracts and corporate documents, business sales and acquisitions, commercial real estate and lease transactions, and employment matters.  As part of his practice, Richard has represented several dentists in the purchase or sale of dental practices and the negotiation of their leases.   Richard focuses on providing services to small and medium sized businesses needing legal assistance in their formation or transactions.  Richard’s litigation experience is a valuable asset in properly addressing risks in the negotiation and drafting of contracts.
