Greg grew up in the Pacific
Northwest and the San Francisco Bay
Area. He received his Bachelor’s degree
from the University of Puget Sound,
where he studied Economics and rowed for
the varsity crew team. Greg attended the
University of California, Hastings
College of the Law in San Francisco,
where he earned his law degree in 1988.
After law school, Greg returned to the
Seattle area to practice law.
Over the past 20 years Greg has
represented a wide variety of clients,
ranging from large companies like
Chicago Title, Fidelity National Title,
Old Republic Title and Windermere Real
Estate to major real estate lenders to
smaller real estate and construction
businesses as well as individuals. This
variety of clients has allowed Greg an
opportunity to resolve a number of
different types of problems through
negotiation, mediation, arbitration,
and, when necessary, civil
litigation—more specifically, real
estate litigation, title claims,
business litigation, construction
disputes, insurance defense, and probate
disputes. Greg also counsels clients on
property acquisition, estate planning
issues, the formation of condominiums,
homeowner association issues including
covenants, and the formation of trusts,
corporations, and limited liability
companies for the development and
holding of real estate. Greg also
handles administrative land use issues
including variances, short plats,
boundary line adjustments and road and
access issues.
Greg handles numerous cases in the real
estate and development context including
purchase and sale disputes, fraud,
forgeries, escrow errors, notary
liability, construction disputes,
construction liens, boundary disputes,
adverse possession and easements. He
regularly teaches seminars to real
estate agents, escrow closers, and
attorneys on real estate, title, and
escrow issues. These have included
in-house seminars for clients such as
Chicago Title, Fidelity National Title,
and Windermere Real Estate. The focus on
these seminars is to increase the
client’s ability to avoid future legal
problems and to have a proactive focus
on spotting problems before they become
contentious legal issues.
